THE TIME HAS COME

YOU MIGHT FIND MY POETRY INTERESTING (ENJOYABLE?) AND YOU CAN FIND SOME where I have posted it as a supporting member of www.writers-network.com. Just go there and search my name. Lloyd Winburn.

The time has come,
The preacher said,
To speak of sin and things,
Of hate and fear, of greed
And words that leave a sting.

Mine are many and
I wish hadn't any
But you are weak and so am I,
We must pause, review them,
Not to deny.

Committing them was fun
And brought on lots of pleasure
But as they sank in the soul,
Feeling as nothing had been done,
There was nothing to treasure.

We saw the waste realizing
There must be something more.
Our reasoning torn and bad the taste
As choices made became a sore
To pull us down, limit our pace.

We are led to think
The friends we made and lost,
The pleasures at what cost,
How far more can we sink
We struggle to find answers.

In thoughts much more profound
Than my simple effort
I am led to believe that there is
In the Walrus and Carpenter
'Nuf said and much better....
